Requirements Needed to Become a Physician Assistant

In the medical field, a physician assistant is a much sought after career due to the physician assistant salary that can be as high as $74,000 annually for entry level positions. In order to become a physician assistant, one has to finish a program that is approved by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. There are requirements to be met before being eligible for acceptance into a physician assistant program. The undergraduate studies that have to be met include Microbiology, Biology and Chemistry courses with Labs; Human Anatomy and Physiology; and Advanced Math. After obtaining these undergraduate studies, typically with no less than a B grade, the student must submit an application to the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants. Another requirement is the posting of Graduate Record Examinations Scores. Some programs for physician assistant require students to take a Medical College Admission Test instead. There are many steps to take in order to successfully become a physician assistant and enjoy physician assistant salary.
